2 August 2019, KUANTAN – The Pahang Investment Forum 2019 was hosted by Pahang State Government in Grand Hyatt Singapore. The forum was attended by the Chief Minister of Pahang, Dato‘ Sri Wan Rosdy, relevant government agencies such as Malaysian Investment Development Authority and East Coast Economic Region Development Council as well as multinational corporations from across the world.
Dato‘ Seri Michael Yang, Megat Khalil Izzuddin Shah, Development Director of South Ocean Development and Datuk Fong Teck Loon were invited as representatives for IBN Corp to witness the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) for a project worth RM100 million.
Pahang is the biggest state in Peninsular Malaysia. The state enjoys a strategic location that is rich with tourism resources, including one of the most popular tourist destinations in Malaysia – Genting Highlands that is about 30km away from capital city of Kuala Lumpur.
The main purpose of Pahang Investment Forum 2019 is to attract investments and promote cooperation between the state and multinational corporations. The forum was attended by 130 entrepreneurs from 83 multinational corporations and has witnessed the signing of 10 MoU.
The total gross development value upon completion of the projects was estimated at approximately RM2.37 billion, which is much greater than the state government‘s annual budget of RM700 million. The forum is expected to have a profound impact on the economic development for the state and the nation.
As a top 10 property developer in Malaysia, IBN Corp is recognised by Malaysian Government. The Company has initiated strategic cooperation with Pahang State Government and it is one of the 10 chosen corporations that was carefully selected by the State Government.
The MoU has established a framework for IBN Corp to invest RM100 million to build a water supply centre that spans 228.9 acres in Genting Highlands.
Upon completion, the water supply centre will provide high quality water for commercial and residential buildings in Genting Highlands and its surrounding areas. Dato‘ Sri Wan Rosdy, the Chief Minister of Pahang, states that the Genting Highlands is experiencing rapid economic development, which leads to occasional water shortage due to increased water consumption. The investment of IBN Corp will effectively alleviate the tension of local water supply, improve the quality of life of residents and enables a stable development.
