Recently, a Malaysian photographer Jun Hong uploaded a photo of the Kuala Lumpur skyline at night with the sparkling lights of Genting Highlands in the background on Instagram. The stunning photo went viral as the netizens were amazed by the skills of the photographer.
The scenery that was captured in the photo caught people by surprise because Genting Highlands had always given us the impression that it is a faraway sanctuary hidden on top of a mountain. Many netizens wondered if the photo was a result of two photos merged together via photoshop or if it was taken through long exposure photography. Some even claimed that it is a photograph of a mirage…
Due to huge interest from the netizens, the photographer later revealed that it is an actual photo taken masterfully when both Kuala Lumpur and Genting Highlands have clear sky during early morning on 4 May. As Genting Highlands is just 50km away from Kuala Lumpur city centre, taking this shot is possible under the right circumstance. Some netizens pointed out that a concert tour was held on that night, which made Genting Highlands look brighter than the usual days.
